What information do I need to set up a limited company?
You will need to supply us with a company name, a registered office address within the UK and details regarding the director(s), including fullname, date of birth, nationality and residential address.
Are there any additional fees?
You only need to pay a one-off fee to register your company at Companies House. There are however, other fees that might be charged depending on the package you choose. For example, the first year’s Confirmation Statement or accountancy fees.
Do I need an accountant?
While you don’t need an accountant to initially register your company at Companies House, we’d recommend that you engage in an accounting service as early in the process as possible. They will be able to provide lots of good advice on how to operate your business and get your company set up correctly from the outset.
Can I reserve a name?
No, you can’t reserve a company at Companies House. You will need to purchase and complete your details in order to fully register your name. If you would like to purchase a company name, you could use our Digital package..
Can I form a company with one person?
Yes, you can form a company with only one person as the director and shareholder. It is common for one person to hold both roles within the company.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
We do require payment up front before we can process your company registration at Companies House. Until payment is received, your name cannot be secured.
